The purpose of our association is to contribute to establishing a scientifically grounded and auditable understanding of construction that prioritises the safety of life and property in our country, which lives with the reality of earthquakes.
With 96% of our country’s territory located in an earthquake zone, our core objective is to cooperate with the relevant scientific, private and public institutions at home and abroad — and to support their activities in every respect — on the effective and practical measures to be taken before and after earthquakes, in order to minimise the great loss of life and property suffered as a result of earthquakes.
To realise this purpose, our association works mainly in the following areas:
- Monitoring legislation in the field of building inspection and earthquake engineering, producing opinions and conveying them to the relevant institutions
- Carrying out technical research, legal, bureaucratic, communication and social solidarity activities through its standing commissions
- Strengthening the sharing of professional knowledge and public awareness through panels, symposia and workshops
- Reinforcing solidarity among colleagues and representing the professional rights of members
