On FOX TV we discussed the earthquake we experienced in Hatay-İskenderun. On 06.02.2023, at 04:17 Turkish time and subsequently at 13:24, two separate earthquakes of magnitudes 7.7 and 7.6 occurred, with epicentres in the Pazarcık and Elbistan districts of Kahramanmaraş. The first earthquake occurred at a depth of 8.6 kilometres and the second at a depth of 7 kilometres. For this reason, both earthquakes are classified as “shallow earthquakes,” and because such earthquakes are close to the surface, the damage they cause is relatively higher.
